Sixth Grade
Sixth grade marks the beginning of middle school, where students take greater ownership of their learning while developing the confidence and responsibility needed for future success. Using HMH Into Literature, Prentice Hall Science, and McGraw Hill Connect Social Studies, students engage in rigorous academics, collaborative learning, and thoughtful discussion that prepares them for high school and beyond.
Reading & Language Arts
Using HMH Into Literature, students strengthen reading comprehension and literary analysis while developing their writing, vocabulary, and communication skills through novels, nonfiction, poetry, and informational texts.
Students learn to:
- Analyze themes and central ideas
- Support ideas with textual evidence
- Write analytical and explanatory essays
- Expand academic vocabulary
- Participate in meaningful discussions
Mathematics
Students develop a strong foundation in middle school mathematics through problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and real-world applications.
Students learn to:
- Solve equations and expressions
- Work with ratios and proportions
- Analyze data and statistics
- Apply geometry concepts
- Strengthen algebraic thinking
Science
Using Prentice Hall Science, students investigate life, Earth, and physical sciences through laboratory investigations and scientific inquiry.

Social Studies
Using McGraw Hill Connect Social Studies, students explore the rise and development of ancient civilizations while examining how geography, culture, government, and innovation shaped the world.

- Mesopotamia
Religion
Students deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith through Scripture, Church history, prayer, service, and thoughtful discussions that encourage them to live their faith each day.
Beyond the Classroom
Middle school students continue to grow through leadership opportunities, service learning, athletics, clubs, school traditions, Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish or French, and Technology.
